A face to face with Boss Giri
We have heard about Dada Giri, and also the word Police giri ( remember the Sanjay Dutt flick) , but have any one felt about Boss Giri ?
Well, being a corporate denizen , for two years of my working life, i did felt about it, but just did not know how does this Boss giri effect my life. It is just as poisonous and as sinister as the other two. It also carries the same subversiveness , that is demanded by Police Giri and Dada Giri. And i felt how I missed naming it untill the trip yesterday, from Gurgaon Railway station to U-Block, Gurgaon
So, it was i stopped at Gurgaon Railway Station, looking for auto to carry to my residence at U-Block,A 25 something Girl was also looking for Auto to U-Block, and the auto wallah decided to do some sort of match-making (i am married though !) , and decided to haul us together to U-Block.
The journey was long, and it was beneficial for both of us, as we share the fare. So, here i sat in the auto, to start my enlightment about Bossgiri.
As we sat on the auto, and started the journey, The Girl’s Mobile phone rang, and she started talking, giving up certain cost. Though i can hear only one side of the conversation, but my imagination was able to figure out the whole conversation , here is the short summary – ” The Girls boss calls her up at 9 PM, to take some monetary value on a field event that took place last week. The boss had always called her up at odd hours to collect information, by odd means at night..The girl is pissed off and was always, when the Boss says to her, to open the laptop once she reaches home, without taking into account her long journey, and her need to cook food and have some rest. The Girl is getting terribly pissed off,but because of the Boss Giri, she needed to say yes sir, yes sir”.
As she close down the phone, she was pissed off big time. And she called one of her colleague to vent down the frustration. Which the other person took cooly and nicely. And when it was over. She faced me, and told sorry for this. And then she started venting the frustration of having bad bosses, in sort Boss Giri.
As the auto reached to our destination, i though frustrated by the sorry state of affairs, said to him, “I too faced similar situations, but by morning i always felt fine, and on last day of the month with my Paycheck, felt that i am the king of the universe; In life , Boss Giri is OK, as it gives the surety of a regular pay check”. I added, showing my intellect , ” By Peter Principle, All position in every department, in every organization in the world are headed by incompetent bosses, so it is part of life, and if you still have problems regarding boss giri then – have guts , resign and start something of your own, but next time, dont disturb your fellow traveller of your BOSS RANT, ADIOS”
