Book Review- Antifragile
The writer is my alias. The crux of the book i really felt
- I understood businessman as people having zero academic knowledge but great courage and people intelligence. As i runt through the academic circle; i realize that academic people can never become a businesman, because they think too much. And as Taleb says, We live in a world which we can never understand. Hence, one needs to be anti fragile.
- To suceed in business, you do not need to follow a businessplan. But you have to be “anti fragile”. Meaning, building a business slowly , doing lot of stuff..and see where you can suceed. Just like life, so in business planning will not take you anywhere…it is bound to fail. So just do stuff.
- Next he talked about convexity, or getting upshot in life. I realize doing regular job wont make you a millionaire. But in business, though you can get lossess initially but then there is an upshot, one good deal and you be millionaire.
- The next thing, he talks about having a big library; I have a really bad academic record, but then i am a book alcholic. I only read things which i do not have any idea about. It is all to do with gaining understanding of the world, which i do not know.
- Life is all about being futuristic and taking your chances. I hate people who says, “I told you so”. I told you so, is such a bad thing to tell anyone. because retrospectively, you can say anything. The past is fluid, you can cherry pick events to suit your narrative; tell them to predict future or even bet. And then you are going to see one’s intellectual strength.
I am still reading the book, getting to digest it.
Interesting Read – the most human human
While taking an entreprunial path, i began across meeting lots of people with different background and taste. During this learning, i managed to developed a special sense. Of intuiting what the other person is going to say and think. I mean, in raw sense, i would be 50% correct, and looking that i am still two month old, i thought i would develop this ability to 100%. The ability to know what the other person is about to tell.
During these time, i began to ponder, whether these people are human or automaton. Why these people talk in a scripted way ? A bank manager talk with a scripted sense, based on rules and bueracracy. An artist will talk in a poetic sense revealing his anxiety. All these people are computers.
It is on these regard i began to search. And got a beautiful book, attached link. Reading this book, has revealed me important facet of our personality. And what it means to be alive !!! as the book says. The book reveals about the fight of computer scientist to build a “human talking computer”. Talking to that computer, you would not feel that you are talking to a computer. To build the algo, they have used human insight and how people “script” there conversation.
